The London Climbing Guides opinion

Opened in the summer of 2012 the White Spider Climbing Wall is a relative new commer in the climbing scene. Based in business centre in Surbiton near Kingston Upon Thames, South West London. The White Spider Climbing Centre is a state of the art, well structured wall offering a decent selection of indoor climbing. This really is a decent addition to the London Rock Climbing scene, it's just a shame it's a bit more difficult to get to than some of the other locations.

The Centre

With a total of about 1,400m sq of roped climbing and over 600m sq of bouldering, this is a decent sized climbing venue. There are around 103 rope lines offering over 300 routes, these roped sections are housed across seven different walls which encompass a few different styles of climbing.

The longest route reaches a dizzying 13 metres and grades run from F3 - F8a and with the addition of a stalactite roof, there are routes of 20 metres in length. There is also a selection of separate bouldering areas: upper mezzanine where there are slabs and traverses, lower mezzanine with overhangs and steep arêtes and the boulder cave, horizontal climbing right next to the dedicated training area. Boulder grades range from V0 to V12.

There’s even a "castle" play area for the kids.
