Building One a relatively new development from the Arch Climbing Wall team. The new centre is housed in a stunning warehouse conversion, once the studios of British artists such as Damien Hirst and Charles Saatchi. The new centre; will run along side the current Biscuit for a year or so when it will make way for a new flat development.

 

Building one hosts an array of great new routes/problems/areas, has a few homages to original Arch at London Bridge which we are pleased to see and has some really exciting new developments unique to Building One. 

 

The Centre

​

Building One – a space with a rich modern art history, and period industrial architecture including a high glass ceiling, dating from its use as a Biscuit Factory. Now a stunning modern climbing centre, with 300+ routes, a 50m traverse wall, 20m long roof, articulated board, and an amazing movement area that blurs training and play.

 

Located just round the corner from The Biscuit, opposite the Shell petrol station on Drummond Rd. This well executed, bright and brilliantly routed centre is a welcome addition to south london climbing scene. The Good news is that if you are already registered or have pre-bought climbs with the Arch these can be used at both centres.

 

Building One is just a short walk from Bermondsey Tube station, turn right out of the station and head all the way down Drummond Road. Building One is located in the courtyard on the right hand side opposite the Shell garage.

All memberships and entrances are valid across all Arch centres.

Climbing at Building One



Adults - Anyone can climb at the Arch if they are a competent climber. If you are not a competent climber you will need to take an Introduction class before their first visit.

Children - under 14 require adult supervision at all times during their visit and are restricted to groups of 2 children. This means that the adult needs to be a competent climber or have taken an Introduction lesson previously.

 

Children between 14-18 years old can climb unsupervised with a parental letter of consent. Again unless the 14-18 year old is already a competent climber, they will need to take an Introduction class before their first visit. Bookings are made via email at thebiscuit@archclimbingwall.com

Registration / Membership / Discounts



Registration at the Building One is totaly free. If you are an experienced climber you can register on arrival. Registration involves reading and fully understanding the ‘Rules & Conditions of the Centre’ and signing the declaration form accordingly.



If you haven’t had any experience climbing before then you’ll need to book yourself onto one of the Introduction classes. Introduction classes are booked  archclimbingwall.com/lessons/book-a-lesson/
